About
I believe people are more than their diagnosis. Yes, a diagnosis is a tool but it is not the big picture. I come from a place of curiosity and wonder, wanting to know my clients on a deeper level so that I can help them navigate this world. For example, PTSD is a big diagnosis that is thrown around; yet, it doesn't paint the full picture. It doesn't reflect someone's experiences, triggers, how this is impacting their relationships, family history, the strengths they possess etc. Adolescents are my passion however, I also enjoy and work closely with families and adults.
I am an EMDR Certified Therapist with specialized EMDR trainings in addiction, attachment, adoption and non-verbal trauma. I also have trainings in Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), ABFT specific LGBTQ+ Adolescents, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Multidimensional Family therapy.
Therapy is hard AND it is also hard navigating mental health alone. I have the experience and training to help and I pride myself on my ability to build rapport. I feel confident that together we can create your goals and make a plan to reach them.

Christine graduated from McKendree University with a Master's Degree in Mental Health Professional Counseling. She has an LPC in Illinois and a PLPC in Missouri. She interned at a community based mental health agency where she gained a vast amount of experience. Her clients receive evidence-based counseling appropriate for their personal issues and/or mental health disorders. She is also highly experienced in CBT and REBT techniques. Her treatment plans result in meeting goals the client wishes to address in a timely manner. She too has facilitated many group therapy sessions. She loves mental health counseling. Hello there. I'm glad you are here.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with almost 25 years of experience in the mental health field including community mental health, hospice bereavement care, and private practice therapy.
It's a combination of my own stories, experiences and training that have led me to uniquely understand how trauma affects the deep places of our hearts, minds & bodies. Neuroscience is clear that trauma resides in our body and creates neural networks in the brain that can lead to stuck patterns. Pervasive shame, guilt, hypervigilence & anxiety are all signals that we are likely living with unprocessed trauma. Whether it is small "t" trauma that has happened over time, or big "T" trauma that happened once, I can walk with you to explore what needs to be told and processed to help bring healing and freedom. We can come to know parts of you that need their voices to be heard. You can learn new ways of seeing yourself, others, and your relationship with God. Let me reassure you that you can experience healing. I'd be honored to walk with you.

Beth Salmo, M.S., LPC-MO, LCPC-IL, NCC, CEAP
Hello! I'm Beth Salmo, M.S., LPC-MO, LCPC-IL, NCC, CEAP. I'm the owner and therapist behind Thin Line Counseling Services, LLC.
Midwest born and raised, I currently reside in the St. Louis metro area. I approach therapy with authenticity, compassion, and meet each client where they are in life. My desire to help stems from personal relationships with and professional care for many people who work in law enforcement, the military, fire/EMS, medical professions, and legal practice. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, insomnia, trauma and crisis, stress, anger, grief/loss/bereavement, and workplace concerns. A special interest area is in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and equine-assisted psychotherapy. I love animals, aviation, strength training, and tacos (not necessarily in that order).
At Thin Line Counseling Services, LLC, I take your privacy very seriously. I will never share your personal medical information without your written consent or in rare circumstances of immediate safety concerns, which will be discussed at the beginning of your first and subsequent appointments. Additionally, I am Board-certified by NBCC as a National Certified Counselor, which requires rigorous testing, credentialing, and continuing education requirements. Making the decision to see a therapist can be intimidating, and I hope you'll find that participating in telehealth via a secure site in the comfort of your own space with a nationally certified professional helps ease your concerns. Please call or email if you have questions - these communications will also be kept confidential.
